By definition, Orthotics or orthoses; is an orthopedic appliance or apparatus used to support, align, prevent or correct deformities or to improve the function of movable parts of the body. The question becomes whether someone needs custom Orthotics OR can the problem be solved with over the counter pre-fabricated devices? Our Board Certified Pedorthists can help determine which would be best for your condition and/or diagnosis.
Computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM), three dimensional cast modeling and biomechanical evaluation are essential elements of the custom orthotic experience here at Shane's Foot Comfort Center. Patients are offered the function of traditional, handcrafted, quality Orthotics with the speed of manufacturing and technology with computerization.
Shane's Foot Comfort Center has always been at the forefront of technology based custom products, we have utilized CAD/CAM systems in our facility for over 15 years! We do ALL of our own work in our facility and the Orthotics are honestly custom made. We have the ability to fabricate a pair of custom made Orthotics for you on site within ONE HOUR of your biomechanical examination by a Board Certified Pedorthist. You may begin using your custom Orthotics the same day as your appointment, which allows your healing process to begin immediately rather than having to endure up to 8 weeks of discomfort by waiting for an off site lab to fabricate your devices. Our on site facility allows both the supplier and the consumer to save time and money, but most of all, your feet!
You do not need to have a prescription to have custom Orthotics made by our facility, HOWEVER, if you want a clear diagnosis or an insurance carrier to be billed, you should seek physician assistance and have a prescription written.
